Greed and power. I suspect there are many Americans who feel as you do, I do. It's not about getting the oil, it's about getting the money from the oil. There was just a series on Discovery called future car. Very informative, inspiring and welcome for breaking the cycle of burning fossil fuels and the dependency that supports. My guess, big oil over the next twenty years will lose it's grip in America as we become less dependent on them for energy. I think this whole fiasco in the middle-east is for money and the fear and uncertainty war creates only helps to drive prices up for the average Joe while making rich business people, richer. How much is enough? Can greed be satisfied?

You know, I keep asking myself the same thing! First we were told that they had WMDs, then it was to bring down Saddam & now no one really says why other than we must fight for the peace! Well, we can't give them peace, so why don't they just bring the troops home? In today's paper I just read that 90% of our Reserves being sent into Iraq & Afghanistan are not being supplied with the weapons & other tools they need to stay alive! Why the heck not? We sure have spent enough money to have them be the best equiped service people in the world but they are not! Really makes you wonder, doesn't it?

Good ole boy reason, Bush,s buddy VP Cheney wanted to help his old company HALIBURTON and Bush is a clever Devil , so he says , well we will make up some halabulloo to pull the wool over the American peoples eyes and start a war in Iraq, then we can allow our American Oil companies and Security Companies to come in and make big bucks. It all good for them, though bad for everyone else.

I say it's because Bush has Daddy issues and wanted to succeed where Bush senior "failed"; what he didn't get was that Daddy Bush knew that if he took out Saddam, what has happened now, would have happened then. On the positive side, one Fat Man or Little Boy would be enough to take out all the terrorists in the area.

You say you were in the Navy and enjoyed the pat on the back for your service, so now when your young ones go it's a whole different story in your eyes. How nice, good enough for the old man but not me. And if they are fighting just to keep their families fed they should of chosen not to go in and get a job.

I can tell you my opinion why we're fighting in Iraq..because it's making a whole ton of money for Bush's buddies in those no-bid contracts. Like they say, follow the dollar sign. It certainly wasn't to get Osama like they told us...

Well, I do not care if we decided to fight in Iraq, Egypt or the Mohave desert...the point is we are going to have to fight them.
I, personally, would have been for putting all the people who wanted to fight us on airplanes, brought them to the California desert, gave them weapons and had it out right here. However, since that is not a plausable situation, I guess we had to take it to them.
Where, do you suggest, would have been a better place?
