1)Do they need bedding?
-My hamster never seems to need bedding because my room is always warm, sometimes its warm enough that he sleeps outside his house where there is no bedding so i stopped using it seeing that i was wasting money. What i did do is leave a cardboard tube in his cage so he can chew it up whenever he wants bedding but does he need real bedding?

2)How do i train him to stop biting me?

3)What other hamsters are out there that are small, easy to find, and not aggressive?

4)Do i have enough space for another hamster?
-the base of the cage is 15x10

To answer your questions...

1) Yes they do need bedding. Bedding not only offers them warmth it also absorbs their waste. It isn't wasting money buying it and actually you can find it very cheap (just bought a 20lbs bag for $6.
2) The best way to train him to stop bitting is to take it slow. If you can remove the top of cage try picking him up that way, if not like all mammals hamsters have napes of the neck that you can pick them up by that will not harm them. Pick them up by that a few times (just like a mother hamster would) and then place him/her into your hand.
3) Most hamsters are bitters, all are easy to find, as to types there are dwarf hamsters (most aggresive), teddy bear, and syrians.
4) That would depend on the type of hamster that you have. Also you should never put in the opposite sex of a hamster unless you plan on having multiple babies (my little syrian had 13 at once).

If you want more information on training your hamster they have hamster how to books that might come in handy for you.

They need bedding no matter what!! Its part of their home, I use the wood shavings, they seem to be okay.

In order for your hamster to get used to you, you need to handle it more often. Try rubbing your hands into the wood shavings so your scent is left there. That way he'll get to know you. Put him on your bed to run around, your scent is also there. Handle him often and let him sniff you.

I think that Teddy Bear hamsters are the most cuddly, and non-aggressive hammies out there. Same with the Golden hamsters. They are available in almost every pet store (Teddy Bear).

Your cage might be too small. What you could try, is you know those two little windows on the side of their cage that can come off?, buy that tubing stuff and attach it to another cage! That way they'll both have fun in the tubes, they'll get excersize, and they'll have more room to live! Make sure they don't start fighting over territory though! If they do start them remove the tubing so they can have they're own separate homes.

Cheers! xo

You need a soft bedding, it is not a waste of money. i had 2 hamsters in a cage who were suppose to get along...they killed eachother, it's rare to have them get along. The best bet is to get siblings.

yes they need bedding or it'll get messy when they use the bathroom and they like to cuddle up in it & hide thier food in it.... u probably shouldn't add another hamster to the cage.... they will probably fight til one dies.
