On the episode of Lake Laogai, Jet was put under mind control as we saw in a previous episode. Now he helped the gang find Appa, and Aang and Jet found Long Feng and attacked him. Long Feng said these magic words, "Jet the Earth King has invited you to Lake Laogai."
Then Jet's eyes become all dialated and stuff. He then attacks Aang. Aang breaks the trance and Jet then attacks Long Feng. Jet throws one of his hooked swords at him. Long Feng gets uber pissed and dodges it and then using a rock, he shoots it out of the ground and hits Jet right in the chin. (very fatal spot). I believe he cracked his spine or something.

He was under the controller of Long Feng, the guy who brainwashed everyone inside the Earth Kingdom so they would be happy and not worry about the war outside. Jet was ordered by Feng to take out Aang as he was trying to rescue Appa. Towards the end, Long Feng, Aang, and Jet were in a face off. Jet broke free of the mind control and went against Feng, who hit him hard with a earth attack. Jet's two comrades came to his aid as Aang's joined them. Jet stated he would be alright and yelled for Aang, Katara, and Sokka to leave with Appa. As they did, Jet grew silent and his companions lowered their heads in sadness. Katara was seen crying, all indicating Jet was beyond any kind of medical help and did not make it.

Long Feng killed him. I assume he died from inner bleeding, but you never know.
