I'm fifteen years old and I've been "out" of school for about 2 years.
Now I've realized how bleak my future is without school, and I need to act now, since I still have time.
But my dad doesn't support my decision,
and he doesn't think I can do it.
and he doesn't want me to return,
he wants me to work.
what should I do?

speaking from personal experience, you should definitely go back to school. i left school at 14 and for two years i just 'chilled' and had the good life (drink, drugs, glad to say no sex). but you start seeing the bigger picture like you did, but its more than that. having that diploma of whatever piece of paper saying you 'did it' is the greatest feeling ever. if it wasn't for my mother i would probably not be earning £2800 a month. and when i finish my studies in 4years (7year course) I'll be earning, well, a lot more.

school is the best time of your life and easiest i might add, and ppl may not feel that way during their school years but they'll appreciate it a lot more in the coming years.

so, my point is that your father cant stop you from going to school. there should be some kind of funding available at your nearest school to help you.

I assume that you don't live in the US. If you do, most states require minors to go to school. Tell your dad that if people find out, he could be facing heavy fines from the courts. Go to school and work on the weekends. Once you've set your ground in school, then make a decision as to wether or not you can work more.

Without a high school diploma, there is no chance of getting a decent job. Your pops should worry about your education more than you getting a job. His *** should support you in finishing school. Get back while you have the chance.

You would have to talk to the administrators of the school district to see if it was possible. You'd have to take tests to see what grade you would be in and I can all but guarantee that you would be with a grade of kids younger than you.

I do agree that education is vitally important and I hope that you make the decision to go back to school

You are right about school. I can't imagine why any parent wouldn't support their child wanting to stay in school. Just do it! Prove him wrong! Don't end up in a dead end job regretting that you didn't stand up to your dad. Your future will be so much brighter with a good education.

Where I live, unless you are home schooled like my children, you would be considered truant and your dad would be in some kind of trouble. You might want to check the laws (without mentioning who you are and why) and inform your father.

How was it possible for you to leave school at 13?

Most states require that you attend until you're at least 16.
