I didn't do well in High School due to personal problems, can I make it up in community college and then go to a top university such as ivy leagues? What are the possibilities? What would you have to do to make up for a flaw? I didn't cheat or anything like that.... I've been in depression. It seems many people who apply are perfect... What I mean is, it seems they haven't flawed...

Any other ideas than Community college then? Not that it's my life goal I just want to see what are the possibilities. Not the impossible. I mean what does it take.

You can still make it to ivy school from community college. I am very optimistic as I have seen some students making it to ivy league even when initial road was tough to get thru.
I would say try your best and get excellent grades at community college. Now while you study at community college try to get in touch with a university professor (from a good univ...does not have to be ivy league) and see if you could pursue a volunteer opportunity to spend time with one of his graduate student. Look forward to take part in research work of grad student and eventually try to publish papers. I know this may sound too much but to get into an ivy league school from community college you need to do your homework not well but excellent.

All the best!

Actually, I have heard of many students jumping from a community college to an ivy league university. I have some friends that did that, they are proof, just work hard on those grades, get the honor courses in the community college, do community service, get work experience, join clubs, PLAY AN INSTRUMENT! Ex:Guitar, violin...etc. You can do it, just show and explain in your application, when you apply, why and what happened.

Your chances are slim to none.... But getting into a top university doesn't determine success. Many of the most successful people didn't even go to college. The reason why top universities have great reputations is because of the quality of their students not because of the great education that they offer. If you've realized your mistakes and work hard, there is no need to get into a top university, its not the end of the world if you don't make it into an elitist ivy league school.

I never heard of someone going from a community college to an ivy league, but call a few and see if they accept those types of transfers.

I don't think that you can jump from Community Colleges to Ivy League schools, to be perfectly honest.

(But I'm at an Ivy League school and I promise you I'm not perfect)

I do not have the perfect answer but I would recommend contacting the school you eventually want to go to and find out as much as possible. Also talk to the counselors at the community college they will be of valuable help to.

The best advice I can give you is to look into your ivy league of choice, and talk to the dean and adminastrations. Also do a whole lot of community service and things, I didnt do so weel in high school, but due to my community service I got into a decent school.
