I'm twenty years old right now and I go to a community college. I wanted to transfer to a state college to pursue a BAs degree, so I could get it over with, but my mother said its better for me to pursue a AA degree. I don't know which path should I choose.

My mom is a nurse and has her BSRN. It's alot better than only having an AA degree. Plus now a days alot of clinic's/hospitals only take BSRN's (at least around here).

My mom is actually thinking about taking some extra classes to get the next up degree (I forgot what it was). But I would deffinatly go for your BSRN.

Good luck!

A BSRN is definitely much better in the long run, and probably only takes an extra year or a bit more. I'm not sure why your mom says the opposite unless she is afraid you won't complete the program. If you get an AA now, it is true you can always upgrade later, but the farther down the road you get, the harder it is to go back to school.

It depends on several factors. Some people finish up their 100 level courses and ge their Associate in Science, or Associate in Nursing. Then you can get your BSN but you are already an RN and can save some $$ and make some $$! But it is hard to work and go to school and nursing is demanding physically, mentally, and emotionally. If you go to a BSN program you will come out with a bachelors degree for sure--a BSN is preferrable to an ADN--it opens more doors for you career wise. Good luck!

The AA degree has probable dealt with maximum of your "breadth or standard practise" standards on the state college, no remember what significant you decide on. you could desire to be fantastic. solid luck.
