Has anyone read any David Foster Wallace?

If you're looking to start on some DFdub, I would rock either Brief Interviews with Hideous Men or Girl with Curious Hair....if you like those you should check out Broom of the System...and if, like me, you are into books that make you hurt so good you should tackle Infinite Jest (in fact it was recently rereleased in paperback for $10 a copy to commemorate the 10th anniversary of its writing) After that, do whatever the funk you want.

I read "The Broom of The System" and thought that was an outstanding piece of work. One of the few solid "mega" novels that have come out of the U.S. in a long time. The link below does a great job of going over his collected works.

"Broom of The System" was one of the few significant pieces of literature that had me laughing on a steady basis from start-to-finish. Their is some great humor there.

I have "Girl With Curious Hair" sitting around somewhere here. Maybe I'll take a look at that tonight.

"Broom" is a great read -- give it a shot.

I tried to read Infinite Jest but it was just too much. Really crazy prose and a super long page count.

If you like Pynchon you will dig this guy. You need to really enjoy WORKING for your reading pleasure.

Suicide is a selfish act, you think of you will get away out of your issues yet all you do is take your luggage with you. Plus you go away your loved ones distraught and torn thinking in the event that they did not see the 'indicators' or they might have helped. Guilt holiday for the remainder of their lives, mean lively human beings take their lives. all of us with a ounce of desire will detect a fashion around their issues in time.
