they will probably fit without a problem ...they are only 20mm wider and 28mm taller...that should not be enough to cause any rubbing

Yes, they will fit the rims

No, they will not fit the vehicle.

Michael B is misinformed. the "70" in a tire size is the aspect ratio, that is, the ratio of height to width.

70% of 285mm is taller than 70% of 265mm

Quick tutorial:
P=passenger, as opposed to LT=light truck
265=width in mm at widest point (not tread width)
70=pecentage of height to width (aka profile aka series)
R=radial
17=rim diameter in inches

The rule of thumb is: out 10mm down 5%. thus:
265/70/17 is
275/65/17 is
285/60/17.
To maintain the correct outer tire diameter.

In theory.

Actually, you need to know if your rim is wide enough to fit that size,and if that size will interact successfully with the vehicle's suspension/steering.

divide mm by 25.4 to determine inches: 265mm=10.43"
70% of 10.43"=7.3
multiply by 2 (top of tire and bottom of tire)=14.6"
add rim diameter (17)=31.6"

285mm=11.22"
70% of 11.22=7.85
x2=15.7
+17=32.7"

a difference of 1.1 inches.

Who cares? Only an inch, right?

Wrong.

Vehicles are built to high tolerences, and a differerence of an inch might as well mean total re-engineering, and re-fabrication of the entire steering/suspension matrix.

Do yourself a favor. Do not try to out-engineer the manufacturers of this vehicle.

If you have the $ and time to fabricate components, like American Hot Rod does, have fun.

Yes they will...the only difference is 20mm in tread width, or 3/4 inch. Since 70 is the "profile" on both tires, the height will remain the same.

Yes they will fit but yu have to think about how much taller they are. It is possible that they will rub when you turn or they may hit the inside of your fenders

should be no problem, not that big of a difference.
