Hi NikkY. One 'key' to avoiding procrastination is to use a technique known as "Eat the Frog First!".
Often, procrastination is the process of avoiding something perceived as unpleasant. It's unpleasant, so you avoid it until you can't avoid it any longer! Eating a Frog is certainly a very unpleasant process. But, it you 'eat the frog' first, that is, if you do the most unpleasant thing FIRST, then you get it behind you and you will then have the energy to do the other things you need to do.
So, what ever you are putting off, figure out the most difficult part of it for you to do (what is the most scary part?) and do it FIRST. Then the rest of it will be easy.

Make a list of things to do with the most important at the top of the list. Do this daily and check them off as you go. You will feel good about the ones you achieve and by doing this each day you will start forming a routine. After awhile you won't need the list, but it is always good to keep one anyway.

There's some good Internet material out there to help, but ultimately, your desire to stop procrastinating comes down to finding steps to help you, and wanting to kick the habit badly enough that you step outside of your old ways, and into better ones. You can do it!

Put notes everywhere telling you to start. If tvs or computers are distracting you unplug them. Have someone come to your house and pinch you when you procrastinate

Write yourself a schedule for the day that accounts for every hour, and stick to it. It makes it easier to do things when you say you're going to do them.

My mantra is, "Get into it." Also, when you say on top of your work, there isn't as much to do at one time. In other words, you will not be overwhelmed.
