I write a blog about DVDs and I thought Trust the Man and Marie Antionette were excellent rentals which translated well to the small screen!

It's often hard to get a recently released DVD, so best of luck with your selection and do not hesitate to check out something that no one recommends!

If you want action start to finish I watched "Departed" a few days ago. Many great actors. Quite violent, a ton of salty language but the ride was worth it. The action follows right to the credits at the end. If you haven't seen it, you'll not figure it out till the end! Music is also great.

Depends on genre. Saw 3 is good,if you're looking for a scary movie. If you want a comedy, Click. Family, Over The hedge or Barnyard.

Monty Python's The Life of Brian.
A classic, good for anytime; also, follow it up with Monty Python and the Holy Grail...just watch out for that viscious bunny...with it's big scary teeth...
No, nevermind, there's simply to much peril!
what? oh!, you can handle SOME peril?
No it's simply too perilous...

One I'd never get but was forced to watch and really enjoyed to my surprise was Secondhand Lions. You look at it and think this couldn't possibly be any good. Shocked the hell out of me.
