Then click on the Run Icon, which will open up the Run Menu for you.
Locate the white area of the screen next to the word Open: in the Run Menu.
Now type in the word COMMAND and click on the OK button at the bottom of the screen.
For Windows XP, you can also type in the word CMD and then click on the OK button.

Go to Start > Run > type in CMD When the command prompt comes up type in IPCONFIG/ all This will tell you what your ip address is. Your network card should be set up for DHCP most likely. Do you have a router that comes before your internet connection?

Gees...I tried the address Joash gave and it did but I didn't like or feel good about the sight. Usually, whatever computer you have has a main System Preference file. After opening it, click on network and it will tell you. Apple Macs go to the apple.

To get your IP on PC-
Click start > Run
On run window write- cmd to open dos command window
On Command prompt write- ipconfig /all
Then it will show all network devices on you pc and IPs that associated with.
But I think its not your problem, how your laptop connected with internet?
From modem, or from other PC, or from DHCP router?
Is your network using Static IP?
