Medicine and the advances in the medical field are perfect examples of how increased knowledge didn't lead to tragedy.

It's all in how you look at things - perception is everything.

If the pursuit of knowledge leads to tragedy, then ignorance is bliss? Right??

Wisdom is the correct use of the information that knowledge brings. So the pursuit of knowledge without the correct use of it could lead to tragedy. Is wisdom the opposite of tragedy? Not really.

However, it should not stop us from looking to gain more knowledge in order to use it for good. The medical field is one good example, stated above..

So we must strive to allow knowledge to be increased, but should also, with the knowledge, make sure that wisdom is sought.

I have never thought of it this way..but if you think about it, it's very true. Look at all the half-witted or "stupid" people in this world. They are all happy as little clams. It's the smarter folk walking around pondering all the calamaties in the world that are miserable.

.well i believe it only occurs if a person becomes too ambitious but i bet it wouldn't lead to tragedy if it were a very humble person.
