No. If you are over 30, I dont think there is any wrong time to retire. If he doesnt want to have to move across the country just so he can compete for a starting QB job that he probably woulldnt get, then that's fine.

No, he's just a mediocre quaterback who's realized he's not a starter anymore and he'd rather go out with some dignity than trying to hang on too long(favre, brad johnson, kurt warner)

as a bucs fan i'm happy he did this, that will allow us to go after jeff garcia, who is a lot better quarterback...and trust me, garcia will compete with chris simms for the job, because gruden is not convinced of simms' abilities and is concerned about the spleen injury
