i had my false contractions the day before i delivered i never felt them before that time i am not saying you are going to delive tomorrow lol but they feel like a period cramp but worse and the real contractions are the same way they feel like a cramp that balls up and sits in the middle of your stomach then slowly releases the can even start in your back but the best way to describe them is as a period cramp good luck!!

Braxton Hicks are when your uterus gets really hard randomly. They're practice contractions, essentially. Sometimes there's a lot of pressure associated with them--but they shouldn't be painful in any way. It doesn't sound like you're having BH. The next time you have sex, feel your uterus right after you orgasm...it should be hard, like with BH.
Your sharp pains just sound like you're getting closer to delivery. As the baby settles into your pelvis and gets heavier, you'll continue to have pain. It also could be round ligament pain still.

You should talk to your doctor about it. With my third child I had Braxton-Hicks contractions from fairly early on and at about 5 1/2 months into the pregnancy I mentioned to my doctor that they were really starting to drive me crazy they had become so frequent. He checked and they weren't BH, I was in early labor. Anytime you are not sure about something like this in your pregnancy it is always best to check with your doctor just to be safe. Good luck

Braxton hicks contractions can be hard to feel - you can tell when you have them, because if you press your belly, it'll feel hard to the touch, and soften up anywhere from 5 seconds to a minute later.
I tend to get them very, very often - when i stand up, walk up stairs, take a bath, sit down, ...when i'm still...pretty much all the time :)
Just try to feel your belly going hard, sometimes thats all you can feel.

I don't think your having Braxton Hicks, the baby is getting itself into the birthing position, it's quite normal. Good Luck

Hon, you are having Braxton-Hicks contractions. That's 'normal' and they'll 'get worse' and feel more and more like 'true labor' as you get 'closer' to the date the baby is born. They'll also get 'more frequent' and last longer, because 'Braxton-Hicks' is actually your 'body' getting in 'shape' to deliver your baby.

I don't think that's it, that's the baby's head coming down into position. Yeah, it really hurts, I know, but it's not the same as contractions. I bet you have really bad pain when you press on your pubic bone. It's the kiddo's big old head!

That sounds like BH, the stretching part is a good indication.

Sounds like you are. If you have alot of them on a daily basis your doctor should check to see if you are dilating. I was having them and was dilated to a 5.
