Is the world really going to end in 2012 because that is really scary and I don't want to end up hiding under my bed the entire of 2012

You say so because of that prediction on the Mayan calendar, in which is supposedly said that the world is ending on December 23, 2012???
Wow, people still believe in that...
Ok I'll stop being sarcastic, for being honest I used to believe it too, mostly because I read that Mayans only got wrong with their calendar once, and by a lapse of 33 seconds!!!
But honey, nobody can know the exact time when the world is going to end, it's impossible, that's divine knowledge, and none of us have ever possessed it, dont be afraid and live your life, and if it's really ending in 2012, then embrace it when the moment comes up.

Well if you take the square root of 2012 you get app. 44.85. Ironically in 1944 we were involved with world war II which is commonly abbreviiaed WWII, which in roman numerals is really MMII turned upside down and this is actaully the year 2002, which incedentily is a numeric palandrome. "Ah, Satan Sees Natasha" also is a palandrome, So I think you can see, through undoubtable evidence, that the world will end when it is smushed by a giant vat of polyvynil pudding. Chocolate, of course. In 2012.

Joey I am looking for answers to that ? now . According to some in the scientific comm it very well could. To most others it is just an end to a myan long year and an alinment of the whole universe till the end of the next long year hope this helps you sleep better hiding under your bed wont help but aslong as it makes youfell better that is all that counts. peace to you

There's as much chance of it ending in 2012 as there is on 06/06/06.
Hang on, we've past 06/06/06 and the world's not ended. Looks like the doom-mongers got it wrong again.

If you believe in unscientific, unsubstantiated myths and legends, the world will end in 2012, at least as far as the ancient Mayans were concerned. Of course they're the people who's civilization ended long ago because they didn't have the wisdom to sustain it.

There is always a chance the world will end every second, form either a unseen asteroid or as super volcano, .etc. The chance is no less now then it will be in 1212.

bless the lord oh my soul and all that is within me bless his holy name. the world will not be ending in 2012 because noone knows the minute nor the hour nor the day when the lord shall come. not the angels in heaven knows of the day of the glorious appearing of our lord and savior jesus christ. all i ask is that you live your life everyday as if it was going to be your last.
