Think back to the mouth actions and sound of Hannibal Lector in The Silence Of The Lambs.
Somethin like that goes on under the Vader helmet.
I bet some cold hard cash on it.
He has those slits but the mouth, you know?
Come on.
That HAS to be how he does it.
Vader and Lector probably have dinner parties . . .

Anakin Skywalker was augmented with cybernetic enhancements (remade his body)and this procedure is what kept him alive, however the telekinetic fury displayed was
another form of absorbing energy he used to feed himself also.he was transformed into some form of cyborg, from Anakin

In Empire Strikes back he has a pressurized cubicle that he uses when he needed to take off his breathing apparatus. It's the scene where we also first see the emporer and the Millenium Falcon escapes the Star Destroyer

Why is he special? I think there were only 2 scenes in the entire 6 pack where someone was eating... at Uncle Owens in Episode IV and on Daggobah in Episode V. I suppose your next question is (with the exception of Trainspotting and Dumb & Dumber) going to be why no one ever goes to the bathroom in the movies.

Eating and going to the bathroom just doesn't move a story along. If you are concerned with that in an Action/Fantasy film, then you aren't getting the big picture.

He has a feeding tube in his navel and he hooks up to a machine to get fed through the tube when he's not busy looking like a stupid ****** in a black cape making obscene heavy breathing noises.

He uses the force to crush food into small particles to fit through the vents of his mask.

I assume he is fed through a tube or intravenously and it is something built into the suit or helmet.

I have always assumed that when they fixed him up when he was burnt they made sure there was some kind of feeding tube inserted in him that was attatched to his stomach.
