Is it true that Fender Mexican Strats are made in bad, sweat-shop like, conditions?

If so, how long has this been going on?

Fender actually has a factory in mexico.They are not made in sweat shops. most fender Strats are mexican made they have 21 Frets.
An American Standard Strat has 22 frets.

I don't think so because I think it would show in the workmenship. You can't tell by looking at it where its made, you have to read it off the neck.
