My sister is disabled and not been very good with the money she's had. What would be the best idea for her to help her build money quickly. What would be the best thing to do with the 500.00 each month? Please give a good list of ideas, not just web pages, but good sound advice. I really want to help her!

She's already on gov aid, housing etc. She's just getting $500.00 for 7 months on top of her $1500.00 she lives on now. She has 3700.00 in bills to pay back, and is not real good on saving money. So I'd like some ideas for her please. She is to lose her $1500.00 and it will go down to 645.00 in one year. So I want good ideas, not insults please.

It depends on the disability. If she's just disabled in her movement, I would save maybe two hundred a month? That leaves you three hundred to spend on grocery bills and gas, and it gives you a thousand fourteen after the seven months. Encourage her to try to spend wisely, and maybe shop with her sometimes to make sure that she isn't wasting it. If she smokes or is maybe an alcoholic (No offense to your sister) try to get her to start quitting. You'll be surprised at how many people waste their money on cigs and beer.
Another thing is to maybe get her a job that isn't painful for her. There are qite a few jobs that disabled people can do. If you have a steady enough income, maybe you could also donate to her savings.

I automatic transfers to savings or to pay the bills could at least alleviate her situation, if she does not get a hold of the money and it goes to those it'll be easier for her to not spend it. What are you planning to do once her benefits get reduced to 675?

On my previous idea there should be a way for her to get direct deposit, set up bill pay, getting out of debt is always sound financial advice.

hopefully she will get it longer than 7 months
the first thing you need to do is set a budget, get her into subsidized housing get on on level pay for her bills. Get her on food stamps . get her on Medicaid. and give her a small budget for fun.
