there are several scientific methods like amniotics, ultrasound and others like mid wives stories, shape of belly, chinese calender, heart beat of the child etc. and all these all just for time pass but amniotics is the most accurate scientific method but doctors never suggest it just for checking the sex of baby coz there is a risk of miscarriage and other things too. this method is used when doctors have doubts that baby is having some serious problems. and ultrasound is the least accurate scientific method of checkin the sex of baby.

There are some old wive's tales about determining the sex of your baby, also the Chinese calendar which worked for me, but I think ultrasound is your best bet. Everybody kept telling me that I would have a boy from the shape of my belly, but my doctor confirmed I was having a girl with the u/s, and we did have a girl, so don't rely a 100% on what people tell you, mostly it's just for fun. You can find some of the folklore on the pages I listed below, they're fun to read. Good luck!

Ultrasounds are not 100% accurate. You can usually tell if they are really sure or not when they tell you. Amniocentesis is the only thing that is 100%. They can do this at 16 weeks. This involves a needle through your belly and they take fluid from the amniotic sac, they can tell by examining that what the baby will be for sure. They can also tell if there are any abnormalities in the baby with this test, but there is a chance of miscarriage, I would recommend doing research on this before you do it to see if it is really for you.

It can be find out for and ultrasound and the result of ultrasound is reliable. In some country it is illegal to perform ultrasound exam for telling sex of the baby.

I carried all 3 of my girls high. My boy I am carrying low. And I think ultrasounds are 100% as long as the babys legs aren't crossed.

The only way to find out absolutely for sure is amniocentesis, which they don't do for healthy, low risk pregnancies. I'd trust the technician doing your ultrasound, they've seen it so many times, that they are probably rarely wrong. And they will probably let you know if they aren't sure.

Even ultrasounds are worng sometimes, but they are far more reliable than 'put a wedding ring on a piece of string and see which way it spins'...
The only way to find out what you are having is to give birth, sorry.
