The only thing I remember in that novel is when the woman had to stand on the scaffold for humiliation. It was something they did back in the days.

think about it, the actual historical stuff.
the setting-a new colony in America. thats certainly accurate
people coming over to work and stuff, waiting for their husbands. thats true. the way the towns organized maybe?
