I would type their name and city they live in, on google - if they are dead there may be an obituary on public record in the local newspaper, which a lot of times is archived online.

Even famous people are in normal obituaries. Just go to an Obituary.com sight or go to the news papers website and in the URL put / oratories

Google their name and see what you come up with. If you know where they live(d), you can also search city hall and/or county records at the appropriate website. Most governmental websites have free access thanks to the Freedom of Information Act.
