I've been using Armor All but I've recently been told by auto specialists that the sun heats the oil in the compound and basically, slowly fries the plastic and shortens the life of the exposed surfaces. So what does the job without the damage?

I have never heard that armor all causes damage. I have used furniture polish when I ran out of armor all. There are many products available out there. You can go to any auto parts store or even wal-mart and find many different kinds of products. Just read the labels. I think if you re-apply the product often it won't have a chance to ruin your interior.
