Once the pass is tipped, anything except fighting or an action not related to football blocking/tackling (chop blocks, eye gouging groin hits and etc.) is legal.

This is taken from Wikipedia:
"At any level, if the receiver is interfered with behind the line of scrimmage, the defender cannot be charged with pass interference (although he may be guilty of a different penalty). This nuance in the rules almost never arises, but can conceivably occur on a screen pass. Pass interference is also rendered inapplicable if the ball was tipped by a player on either team prior to the contact being made, regardless of how slight or incidental the "tipping" was."
So, in answer to this question, once the ball is tipped, holding or tackling is fair game.

well neither of you would really be right, because it depends on the exact action...if the defender is basically wrapping his arms around the receiver, then yes that's defensive holding, but he can push and shove(as long as it's not to the face) and he would be fine because pass interference cannot be called once the ball is tipped

Pros v Joes
The rules as they had it was correct. Basically, if the ball is tipped, anything goes besides the obvious fighting or chop blocking. But holding you can do. 100% sure.

It's true, once a ball thrown is touched by the defense, contact is legal (except contact like face mask, spearing, etc. that is always illegal).

i does not want that to be a rule. it style of sounds like a cop out, and may well be somewhat stressful in case you're working troublesome to shield, killing their shot clock, and all the participant has to do is chuck the ball at your ft
