ok the monitor screen went completely pink with like white static lines moving around. i dunno what happened. i turned off my monitor and 15 minutes later it happened.

This is a new monitor and graphics card i got 2 months ago. Is there something wrong with the monitor or graphics card?

i have a lcd monitor
geforce 8800gtx

make sure whatever type of cooling system(fans, liquid,etc.) is working properly....it could be overheating....or....check that your computer's power supply is really rated to the amount of power that card draws.....high end video cards demand lots of power....

As you said, it could either or even BOTH the card & monitor.

Sooo, IF you don't have another monitor to plug into the card you might be ab;e to try this.

*IF* your computer's motherboard has a built-in Grahpics connection, you can try plugging your monitor into it to see if that works. IF it does, you know it's your card.

*IF* it is your card, it could be either a bad connection at the monitor socket or maybe it's not seated properly in the slot on the motherboard. OR the card is indeed bad

well, i would think it wold be the monitor. if it were a crt monitor then i would be pretty sure it would be that, but its peculiar with an lcd. id still say the monitor. get a friend to bring over one of theirs if possible and try it. that should help find the problem.

check all cord connections. if you can see if the monitor works on another pc. check graphics card-secure.
