This is a great time to start to prepare!
It's never too early to visit colleges, as this is the only real way to get an idea of what going to school there would be like. Get your parents to take you on visits to various types of post-secondary schools, so you can start forming your thoughts on what you'd like to live with when the time comes.

As a future teacher, I would suggest that you work hard at doing the best that you can. I also feel that it's important to make sure that you spend some time reading, especially since by the time you get to college you will be required to do a lot of it. So I would suggest that you may want to consider checking out the local library to see if they have a summer reading program or you can start one of your own.

Don't worry about college right know, you still got about two years before you have to worry about it. For right now, just focus on making good grades so you can start off with a good GPA and standing in your class. Remember, some freshmen do not worry about GPA; however, GPA and SAT is everything when it comes to colleges accepting you. Also, GPA is what determines your rank. Some states have certain laws when it comes to ranking. For instance, in Texas if you are in the top 10% of your class, any state supported University must accept you (you are still required to take the SAT or ACT). Also, in Texas, if you are the ranked the top student in you class, you don't pay for your first year's tuition if you go to a state supported school. Remember, if you mess up badly on your GPA to start off with in your freshmen year, it becomes difficult to bring it up. I started with a 2.2 my freshman year and I only managed to bring it up to a 3.4 by the time I graduated.
Your sophomore year or junior year, take an SAT prep class (it really helps). Make sure you take the PSAT at least once, so you can get a feel for it.
If not done so by the end of you Junior year, the June after your Junior year is the latest that you should first take the SAT. Then take it as many times as many times as you want to in the first semester of your Senior year. If you do not take it by the first semester of your Senior year your SOL. Although it will be offered they second semester of your Senior year, you might not get the results in time to have it sent to colleges before the deadline.
Scholarships: The key is to do as many as you can. I recommed that you set up an account at fastweb.com and update your profile as often as you can (the downside is that they do send you a ton of spam). Try to do a couple of scholarships your freshman and sophomore year (its not a big deal if you don't do any). However, really start working on them your Junior year. Do as many as you can your Senior year (if you find yourself doing nothing look at scholarships instead). Even do the ones that are only for a couple hundred dollars. Every little bit helps, trust me.

Well... this is classic, when i was in Grade 8 my teachers would make grade 9 sound like hell on earth and it seemed very difficult... until i got there, Gr.9 is easy to tell you the truth and you just have to try your best in your senior years in order to get to a good college!
Just RELAX and enjoy Gr.9 because when u reach grade 12 u'll look back and say "why was i even worried?"
wish you luck m8 & take care ;)

Do as well as you can in your classes, and pick a few (not a million) extracurriculars that you're willing to do for four years. For now, you don't really need too do any more than that
Good luck!
