We have quite a number of DVDs and we are going to buy one this weekend. Need some ideas.
It's gotten so expensive to go to the movies... it's like 8-9 bucks a ticket, plus a soda, etc. that we just buy DVDs.
Also is The Departed any good? Thanks in advance.

Since you probably have most of the newer movies that have come out, here are a few of my older favorites you may never have heard of (and that haven't been remade yet):

Dramas
Suddenly (with Frank Sinatra in the bad guy role) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0047542/
The Man with the Golden Arm (Sinatra as a recovering drug addict) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0048347/
Fail-Safe (Henry Fonda as the US president during the cold war, and supposedly the movie that Dr. Strangelove was a parody of) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058083/

Comedies
Multiplicity (Michael Keaton in four hilarious roles) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117108/
Spies Like Us (Chevy Chase and Dan Akroyd as bumbling cold war spies) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090056/
Sleeper ("Woody Allen's Second Best Movie After Annie Hall" -imdb) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070707/

I'll list some older movies that might not be on people's best ever lists, but I loved these movies when I was a kid (and they still hold up today).

Real Genius.
Better Off Dead.
Big Trouble in Little China.

And The Departed was great, but if you have a problem with violence, you may not want to get it.

many times the particular version instruments incorporate a team of belongings you in all possibility wont even watch as quickly as, no longer to show adequate cases to justify the extra cost. i will no longer be able to tell you the way a lot of those "collector" instruments I very own that the 2nd DVD has under no circumstances been faraway from the case. It fairly comes right down to in case you think of its nicely well worth the bragging rights, and the bigger field on your shelf. besides, now days the organisation that makes the DVD could have the extra advantageous components on their internet site, so as that they might pump you crammed with commercials. rejoice with the action picture and thank your mom :-)

Legend, with Tim Curry- best movie to date.

Silent Hill. 'Nuff said. Good Horror.

And, if ever you can find it- Plague Dogs. Animated, back in the days of Heavy Metal and Fritz the Cat.

Damn, good movies, love.
