ok, so i am shopping today at the mall, and a lot of the girls that i saw there look like they were all dressed practically the same.
one of my friends and i started having a conversation about it, and we just cant come to an agreement on why some people are so obsessed with being trendy.
if you like the trendy clothes, why not wear them in a different way that will make then unique to your own style??
you can be cute and fashionable without looking like everyone else, being an individual is a good thing!!
anyone care to enlighten me???????

I agree with you. Trendy is good. but I don't want to sit down on a bus and look at someone who is wearing the same thing as I am. I have always hated that. If I can find a clothing store that is a small store that is not too expensive and only buys one of a kind in each dress size or whatever piece of clothing you are buying, that has been my kind of store. I love to have clothes that are fashionable but no one else has on. Those stores are always around you just have to look for them and I don't mean in the Mall.

I have never understood the desire of some to be trendy either. On the one hand, people want to be noticed; but on the other hand, they don't want to be noticed. It's odd. But that's people for ya. I don't want to be trendy because it's too expensive, and I don't enjoy shopping. I try to buy classic styles that don't really go out of style. Just yer basic clothes. Nothing fancy or weird-looking. Something that I can wear for a long time.

There are 2 types of trendy;
I wear everything I see in runways and magazines.
or
I strive to be different.
I wear everything people are the ones who are less creative or want to fit in or just show that they have the money to but the trends.

OK people want to look "trendy"because they want to get attention and look nice. there are different style trends each season. to follow along with them you can buy a fashion magazine for men it will help you stay in touch with the new styles:-)

Most likely because they ar in a group and do not want to be kicked out. like schools. there are 2-3 groups in wrestling. C-team (J.V.) J.V. (Junior Varsity), and Varsity. also, they have certain days on what clothes that is a MUST wear, (Like on 'Recess' and all but one of the 'ashleys' are wearing purple and that one 'ashley' is kicked out). So, that is the answer. People do not want to be kicked out and want to join a group.

they want to dress up because either they care more about there looks than what they are like in real life. also they could be trying to impress someone

I think people want to be trendy because it makes them seem "cool" i guess.

i know what you mean. its so dumb how people want 2 be like everyone else. they do it becuz if they dress like everyone else then they think they will fit in. like if the popular group is dressing one way everyone wants 2 dress that way or they think they dont fit in! they prob. just mostly do it for reputation & popoularity. dumbbb
