How do you get movies (DVDs) that you already own onto an 80gb ipod video? I put the dvd into my computer and then opened up Itunes, but itunes won't recognize it?

any free or inexpensive ways???
and I do not have a mac I have a pc

The thing is the DVD will be in the wrong format - so you need a converter that converts avi files to mp4s.. Most cost about $50... But if you're ok with downloading songs illegally, you might as well download the program....
Go to podtropolis.com and search for a converter..
I have a video ipod too.. I LOVE IT!

you have to buy a video converter which will cost you about 30 dollars. thats the only way to get dvds into the mp4 format that it only allows.

type in search dvd to ipod.. buy a program online or if u can get one at the store

Try TubeHunter which can rip DVD movies off to iPOD MP4.
