Propaganda ? What's That ? Perhaps the 5th one listed here."A Nightingale Sang In Berkley Square" " The Boogie, Woogie Bugle Boy"I Came Here to Talk For Joe", "It's Been A Long, Long Time" ""Praise The Lord & Pass The Ammunition","The Last Time I saw Paris" " The White Cliffs of Dover"You'll Never Know." are just a FEW great WW2 Songs. My girlfriend recorded the last one & her hubby's shipmates played it over their ship's speakers. It seemed to inspire them. Propaganda ?

Der Fuehrer's Face
Spike Jones and the City Slickers
When Der Fuehrer says, "We ist der master race"
We HEIL! HEIL! Right in Der Fuehrer's face
Not to love Der Fuehrer is a great disgrace
So we HEIL! HEIL! Right in Der Fuehrer's face
When Herr Gobbels says, "We own der world und space"
We HEIL! HEIL! Right in Herr Goring's face
When Herr Goring says they'll never bomb this place
We HEIL! HEIL! Right in Herr Goring's face

One that soldiers from almost every country liked was "Lili Marlene." There are many different versions of it. Another one was "When The Lights Come On Again All Over the World."

NBC made a documentary on the WWII footage and they called these series Victory at Sea. I performed it about a year ago and found it pretty cool.

actually, "we will Meet back" with the help of Vera Lynn is a sturdy music and completely captures the era. a definite prominent of mine is "that's been a protracted, long term." there is an dazzling recording of it with the help of Bing Crosby with Les Paul.

Here's a couple more songs from the war years.
British squaddies still sing this one today:
-Kiss me goodnight Sergeant Major
Kiss me goodnight sergeant major
Tuck me in my wooden bed
We all love you sergeant major
When we hear you bawling "show a leg!"
Don't forget to wake me in the morning
And bring me a nice hot cup of tea
Kiss me goodnight sergeant major
Sergeant major be a mother to me

-We'll meet again
We'll meet again
Don't know where, don''t know when
But I know we'll meet again
Some sunny day

The next song was of course later used as the theme for the comedy series Dad's Army:
-Who do you think you are kidding, Mr Hitler
Who do you think you are kidding, Mr Hitler?
If you think we're on the run
We are the boys who will stop your little game
We are the boys who will make you think again
So who do you think you are kidding Mr Hitler?
If you think old England's done?
Mr Brown goes off to town the 8:21
But he comes home each evening and he's ready with his gun
So who do you think you are kidding, Mr Hitler?
If you think old England's done

-Run Rabbit run
Run rabbit, run rabbit, run, run, run
Don't let the farmer have his fun, fun, fun
Bang, bang, bang, bang goes the farmer's gun
So run rabbit, run rabbit, run, run, run

-Blood on the Risers
Is everybody happy said the sergeant looking up
Our hero feebly answered "Yes" and then they hooked him up,
He jumped into the slipstream, and he twisted twenty times,
And he ain't going to jump no more.
(Chorus)
Glory glory what a hell of a way to die,
Glory glory what a hell of a way to die,
Glory glory what a hell of a way to die,
And he ain't going to jump no more.
He counted loud , he counted long and waited for the shock
He felt the wind, he felt the air, he felt that awful drop,
He pulled his lines, the silk came down and wrapped around his legs
And he ain't going to jump no more.
(Chorus)
The days he lived and loved and laughed kept running through his mind
He thought about the medics and wondered what they would find,
He thought about the girl back home, the one he left behind.
And he ain't going to jump no more.
(Chorus)
The lines all wrapped around his neck, the D rings broke his dome,
His lift webs wrapped themselves in knots around each skinny bone,
His canopy became his shroud as he hurtled to the ground ,
And he ain't going to jump no more.
(Chorus)
The ambulance was on the spot, the jeeps were running wild,
The medics, they clapped their hands and rolled their sleeves and smiled,
For it had been a week or more ,since last a chute had failed,
And he ain't going to jump no more.
(Chorus)
He hit the ground, the sound was "splat", the blood went spurting high,
His pals were heard to say "Oh what a lovely way to die",
They rolled him up still in his chute, and poured him from his boots,
And he ain't going to jump no more.
(Chorus)
There was blood upon his lift webs, there was blood upon his chute,
Blood that came a trickling from his paratrooper boots,
And there he lay like jelly in the welter of his gore,
And he ain't going to jump no more.
(Chorus)

-Hitler's only got 1 ball
Hitler, he's only got 1 ball
Goering he's got 2 but small
Himmler has something simmler
But poor old Goebbels has no balls at all

-Whistle while you work
Whistle while you work
Hitler is a jerk
Mussolini bit his weenie
That's why it don't work
