Well it might be too cold in the room where the computer is.
No, really, it can be anything from a faulty hardware configuration (malfunction in the motherboard, RAM synchronisation, disk-drive buses), software (viruses, operating system, different applications), or even short power failures.
Try and identify if it occurs randomly (usually signifies an operating system instability, or certain hardware issues, including frequency mismatches and/or power problems), if it is caused by something you do (operating system or other unsafe applications), or if it happens after some time in which the computer was turned on (most likely a hardware problem, like overheating).
Whatever it may be, if you are unable to identify the source by yourself, it's most likely you won't be able to fix it by yourself even if you somehow figure out what it is. Contacting customer service is never a bad idea...

I wish you could have provided more detail about your computer.
But I guess here's a checklist to troubleshoot problems...
What applications are running when the computer freezes?
Have you been doing online downloading, if so, are your virii definitions updated and have a virus scanner?
Have you cleaned your computer of potential spywares and harmful cookies?
You just need to be a little more specific when explaining this issue.
