Hi, I am new to this forum. My second baby is now 7 months old and has had very little appetite for about 3 days now, about a day before his vaccinations. His diapers are less wet/full and his urine is yellow (not orange; they are usually very pale/clear). He is not interested in taking a bottle at all (with expressed milk or formula), and he nurses veyr lightly, as if for comfort. I think he might be teething. I dpnt see any teeth emerging but he is reaching at his ears. He was jsut at the peds , and he has not had a cold, and his checkup was fine, so i dont think he has an ear infection.

One problem we also have is that our son greatly prefers nursing. I have a number of health problems and have felt I do not produce a lot of milk (I pumped all day while in the hospital and had 6-10 oz total/day). With my first baby, i completely ran out of milk at 6 1/2 months, but my first son took a bottle fine. My youngest is growing but small. He doesn't eat enough. What can I do?

Shots will kill your sons appetite for a couple of days, even a week. Try to get him to take some watered down juice or a 3oz bottle in between meals. Other than that he is eating what he thinks he needs and its ok. If he is pulling at his ears, he could very well have an ear infection. Just because Dr said he was ok, doesn't mean something could've developed. If he is teething, is he really slippery with saliva? Lots and lots I mean?? With sore teeth they still take a bottle pretty much as it soothes away the pain. (Sometimes)
Keep a good watch on him, try again to get liquids in him.
I really think he is just reacting to the shots.
Its ok.. normal!
Good Luck!

Try to feed the baby smaller amount more offen. My son is 9 months and does the same thing I has to do with growth spurts. If you offer your baby a bottle about every 3 hours he will take what he needs. Babies are smart they know when their hungry. That's what my ped told me.

Good Luck!
