I've been having probs with running a game, and I contacted support and they told me to lower my sound acceleration through dxdiag. So I went there and accidently slide the bar to no sound, and now I cant fix it. I went through the troubleshooter and it told me to go to the device manager, and properties and under usage to select enable. However, the useage bar is greyed out and cannot be selected. Does anyone know how to fix this? I cant play any sound now at all.

Ok, here’s what you do, this has happened to me before, several times. Forget the device manager crap. Simply go to Start> All Programs> Accessories>System tools> System restore > and pick a date where the sound was working, and then press restore. After the restoration, everything will go back to the settings it was on the day you picked.

So why not go back to dxdiag and turn it back on?
