You would be held to the rules as anyone else, ie continuing to look for work, reasons for termination, meeting eligibility requirements, etc. Benefits are contingent on you being able to work, and available for work, so I would imagine you will be eligible until close to delivery (depending on your job classification and your physical well-being), and then possibly lose pay until you are able to resume looking for work, around 6 weeks post partum. Then your checks would start up again as you continue to look for work. Just be sure to find out what jobs you HAVE to accept vs OPTIONAL work. You won't want to take a job that won't meet your needs if you don't have to, and if you refuse certain work you can lose benefits. Speak with an unemployment representative to clarify these points. Good luck to you!!
Blessings

It really depends on your state laws. Meaning if you live in Colorado the reason for your layoff may not qualify you for bene's but if you live in Oregon you can pretty much get unemployment as long as you didn't leave in a huff and didn't steal anything.
You need to go ask. That employer pays a special federal tax specifically for unemployment (contrary to popular belief, you are not paying that particular tax).
You need your unemployment benefits more than most. It will be very hard for you to get full time regular work at 7 months pregnant, meaning you will probably do temp or contract work until after you deliver.
Call the unemployment office. I have found that people working for this segment of the state government are quite helpful.

You have not stated the reason why you lost your job, is it because you are pregnant? He can't fire you if that is the reason. Tell him you have an employment attorney and you need a complete set of the company's employment and discharge requirments. Then go get an excuse from your doctor and tell him you are having problems-give it to your boss and tell him you are taking the 2 months til the baby is born off plus the next 8 wks. Your job better be there. Get copies of your personnel records and any job evals. If he has been nasty at all you can sue him and the company for creating a hostile work environment, cite stress.

Why did you loose your job? It is illegal to be terminated for being pregnant. If that is why then you can claim benefits plus a huge lawsuit. But you'll have to prove it. If your company was down sizing then you can still collect. If you were fired for non performance or some other reason that was your fault then you are out of luck.

Pregnancy is considered a medical disability. You have to be able to work in order to get unemployment benefits.
You may be able to get some short-term SSI. Contact Social Security. Or you can get family assistance from your welfare department.

theres a big differce between unemployed and a mum to be, once you have you baby you become a single mum and r entitled to a total different benifit. the best thing is to go and ask your local centrelink or jump online.

If you were laid off and not fired then you will probably qualify. Wouldn't hurt just to go and find out.
