I am thinking about getting a new desktop but do NOT want Vista. All of the computers at stores like Best Buy & Circuit City have Vista. Is there anywhere to buy a computer with XP on it? Or can you put XP on a computer with Vista?

I have a legal copy of XP. I just wasn't sure if you could downgrade the OS from Vista to XP.

No promises here, but I work at Best Buy and in our store in particular we still have a couple of computers with Windows XP on them... plus they are on really good clearance prices since they need to get rid of them... this is the case for most any place that sells computers... Also, online there are still places that sell computers with Windows XP on them....

You can put xp on a machine that's got vista now why not go down to you local computer retailer and ask them to sell you a computer with xp on it, it wouldn't take long to remove vista and install xp

there are still computers with xp installed but maybe the computer you want are newer than the ones which still have xp, so u can buy any of it, with vista if you want, and then you can install windows xp, but you need a boot xp disc, so u can format your hard drive and install windows xp, once you do that, you'll see how your pc works faster

the online stores would be more likely to have xp still available.
in any case, as long as you have an xp disc and can gather up your drivers for xp you can wipe the vista clean and install xp....takes about a half hour or so

YESS i just bought a new pc and im a gamer and xp is supposed to be better than vista on games so yess u still can get them because i got mine yesterday

u could put windows xp on vista.
u could buy your computer from dell. it comes with windows xp and more stuff

you can get desktops with xp still, they wont be as good as vista ones tho. i bought a compaq laptop and it came with xp.

no but if you own a legal copy of xp you can install it on your new computer and take it off your old one
