It is now Friday, and since Sunday night I have been vomiting violently one to two times a day. I did have morning sickness toward the beginning of my pregnancy but I have since felt much better. I have already made 2 trips into the ER for fluid and meds. At first I thought that I may have the flu or food poisoning, but now the vomiting is so random and there is no nausea with it. My stomach hurts SOOO bad right before, and (not to be gross with details) I'm pretty much throwing up everything I have eaten during the entire day. The baby is moving around fine, although I can feel myself becoming dehydrated again (was just in for IV yesterday morning). My back is very stiff, and my appitite is slim to none usually. Has anyone else had anything like this? I am 24 weeks pregnant and starting to worry :( please help!

I'm currently 28 weeks pregnant, and I experienced the same things. I even threw up so hard that I busted the blood vessels in my eye. Make sure you have plenty of liquid because I didn't and that's how it happened and believe me having a red eye on top of all the discomfort, and changed body image was really ruff. I asked my doctor for help and she gave me this medicine that I take 30 minutes before I eat. It helps the digestive process speed up so when I do throw up it's later and less food. I know it's hard and sometimes I feel like it's more than I can take, but don't worry. As long as you don't have a fever and the baby is moving fine then it should be ok. Try asking your doctor for help. They should be able to give some relief. Congrats on your pregnancy, good luck, and God bless.

Since you've been to the ER, I'm assuming all is well with the baby. As long as the baby is moving, it's probably Okay.
Many pregnant women with hyperemesis this late into the pregnancy end up needing home IV therapy. It allows direct intake of medication into the IV bag so you don't have to take pills or suppositories. It may also allow them to give you nutrition through the IV.

I had the same problem w/my 1st pregnancy. I vomitted every day almost five times a day or more for five months. I ended up in the ER several times. The best thing for me at that time was to take half of my prenatal vitamin at a time. When I woke up in the morning I had to take everything extra slow. Slowly sit up, have some gingerale right next to my bed and slowly take a sip or two. Just take everything extra careful and slow. My next two pregnancies were great. I think some of us women's bodies cannot handle the idea of that foreign object inside, so it tries to fight.

Yes!! when I was pregnant I lost 10pounds in the 1st few weeks vomiting soooo much but then I found out I was having twins so everything was excessively worse, it will smooth out I just ate things w/ no flavor and no sugar and I was okay until the morning sickness stopped. Good Luck !!

If you were in for an IV yesterday, I am assuming you have seen your obstetrician - if not, make an appointment NOW. Your dehydration is not good for the baby. Good luck.

This could be due to a vitamin deficiency ask your doctor about this. It happened to my friend and her doctor gave her medication to control the vomiting.

I don't know if this is normal, but don't let yourself get dehydrated again before you go back in.

It could be an infection. Go back to the hospital and ask them to check you.
