I am planning a trip to the Starfish Resort in Trelawny Beach in Jamaica next year (2008) for my son (who will be 8) and I, and I was just doing my homework...has anyone heard of this place or been there? What was your experience like? I picked them cause they are kid-friendly. Thanks! :o)

I have been to Starfish and it is very kid friendly. There are various actvties such as conoeing and windsailing. They have something like a club and on different nights the club is open to kids and sometimes there is an adult club night. They have a waterslide(awesome!), 4 jacuzzis, and like 5 pools and of course a beach with a trampoline in the water. People were flipping off it.. Their food is the boss. They have restaurants that u can go to. They have dancers that entertain in the night and a whole lot of activities in the day.. When I went it was Carnival time and they made up a little Carnival competition dance thing which was fun. Their staff is very courteous and helpful. Make sure u go on the waterslide. They also have a gym and a a games room.

The previous answerer is correct in that Starfish Trelawny is very kid friendly. Many parents take their kids there. You can research this resort at TripAdvisor.com. Type in the resort name in the search area and you will find dozens of trip reports from previous visitors. You can read the resort amenities and view "candid traveler photos" that some visitors posted. You can also ask questions in the "forums" section. You will get more and better answers there than here. Also, you can look at other attractions that the area has to offer.

That resort is between Montego Bay and Ocho Rios in an area called Runaway Bay. We stopped in there briefly last Summer. It was very nice and clean. It is an all inclusive resort but one that has several restaurants that require payment. It seems like several of the onsite activities also require fees. But you can check that out in the amenities section. Have a great trip.
