Probably the most easiest way is to try another CD. If that doesnt work, the CD Drive is most likely bad. If So, its very easy to replace. Just go to Best Buy, CompUSA , or Walmart even and purchase another CD Drive.

Then open the case and pull the old one out, you will see how it connects, one ribbion cable and one power cable. Take the old one out and put the new one in and boot the machine. It will recognize the new one right away.

Well, it sounds like if this just started happening, then the laser in your CD ROM is either dirty or stopped working. Those CD players don't cost much, and a friend of mine helped me change mine. I don't know what the lasers cost, so either way, you'll need to get it out. On mine the side panel & front comes off the tower quite easily.

What about data CD's? does your CD player recognize anything there?
It may be that your CD drive needs cleaned. Go get a CD player cleaner, and try cleaning it. It will look like a regular CD with a tiny brush attached to it.
You may just end up installing a new CD drive.

you do not have a pics card; your pics are coming from a chip on your motherboard. Your equipment in basic terms isn't equipped for even the backside tech of video games. I hate to assert this, even yet it's time to donate your computing device to a school and purchase your self a sparkling one.

If the computer doesn't take the disc try to clean it.If that doesn't work see what kind of cds your computer supports, you might need a codec. If you don't need one go to my computer if you have it and find your cd.Click the cd and start jamming.

Try with a different Cd - this will eliminate if it is one disk or your drive. If a second or indeed third disk all fail to work then I recommend you get onto the Internet, start with http://www.microsoft.com and download all updates.

Also look for new drivers for your drives.
