Joe Mauer: First catcher ever in the AL to win a batting title.

Justin Morneau: Winning MVP (Who would have thought of that!)

Now, they have to prove that they can repeat and not fall into the hands of other players (Mainly Jeter) and prove to people it wasn't a one year wonder.

How do you think they will do??

Because I for one am worried about Joe's habit in hitting into too many double plays, and the way Justin lacked his HR's in the playoffs.

Great Question! I see no reason why Mauer could not return to his record-setting ways. As long as Gardy doesn't abuse him that is. He needs to stay healthy, and catcher is the toughest position on your body. He's a good Minnesota boy with a real bright future.

Morneau, I'm not so sure. He had a lot of competition for MVP last year, all of them qualified. I think they should have signed him to a bigger deal than just one year.

As for the Playoff's, unless the Twin's pitchers keep up their end of the deal, I can see Detroit or Cleveland making it to the Series.

It's time for the Twins to get past the first round! Who knows - Maybe the M&M bro's will trade, and Mauer will be MVP and Morn-o will win the batting title!

I think Morneau can repeat the numbers he put up last season. He got off to a terrible start last year, and their lineup was an unsettled mess. This year they have their 3-6 set and he will have guys on in front of him and Hunter behind him giving him some protection. It is not unreasonable to expect .320 with 35 hr and 130 rbi (although he won't win the mvp again). I don't think Mauer will hit .347 this year, but he will make up for it with improved power numbers. His game is continually getting better, and power is the next thing to develop. I see .335 with 20 hr and 90 rbi. They will lead the Twins to the playoffs again this year.

Morneau will be fine in the playoffs with extra experience dealing with pressure... but the Twins' won't escape The Eye of the Tiger. Detroit will win the WS... As for Mauer's constant DPs, it's because he is a high-percentage batter and he is slow... which requires ground balls, and since he is slow and hits second, that means several DPs. Not much you can do, you just take what you can. DP isn't a fantasy stat (thank goodness!)

While there is a good chance that both players could see a decline in numbers this season, I don't think that necessarily means anything. The Twins fate this season will depend on pitching. I wouldn't worry about things like how many double plays a guy hits into and lack of numbers in the post season. Both guys are young studs and will be all-stars for years to come. I'd be more concerned with them staying with the Twins for the long haul.

This is their chance to lead their team to the World Series.....Joe Mauer will have a better season than last year and Morneau will hit more than 35 home runs

Mauer deserved to win the batting title. Morneau however, didn't deserve the M.V.P. award. He is a good power hitter, in fact, I think he should be in this year's home run derby. Morneau is a fluke. He didn't deserve the award. He isn't even the M.V.P. of the Twins, much less the A.L. He got lucky. The people who voted him in are avid wite-out inhalers or whatever they choose to inhale. That is a pathetic judgment call if I ever seen one. The person who made this decision, should have been fired immediately. He won't win another one. I am positive of that.

Yeah i think of they did an outstanding interest. It became fairly unlucky that Quentin have been given harm, for the White Sox and my myth baseball team. yet, Pedoria did %. up an stunning style of slack for a suffering pink Sox team. This little guy sometimes had to bat 4th, and he hit in that spot like it became organic to him. Drew had one good month yet after that he became especially much valueless. Pedoria became grab and grab can fairly be sure MVP, that one guy mentioned it in basic terms makes him look good. nicely do you like meaningless hits and abode runs or do you desire to have a guy pad on stats once you're up by potential of 6? He hit over .3 hundred against the strategies-blowing 5 AL pitchers so he's an outstanding participant. I wish the guy giving thumbs down might surely provide rationalization why, thats in basic terms cowardly.

I don't see either one of their numbers declining too much next year...I expect the twins to win 88-94 games.
