I want to use "P" but I dislike many of the common names especially Peter, Paul, Preston, Powell, Patrick, Parker, Pembroke, Percival, Phillip, Pierce.

I would particularly like a Hebrew/Israeli name or word, not necessarily biblical, so if you are a fluent speaker please suggest some masculine words?

Here are some modern Israeli names for boys:

Matan [מתן- gift; giving]
Meytar [מיתר- string]
Michael [מיכאל- who is like god]
Matar [מטר- rain]
Ma'or [מאור- lighting; brightness]
Moran [מורן- viburnum (plant)]
Mor [מור- myrrh (plant)]
Me'ir [מאיר- ~he~ lights]
Ma'ayan [מעיין- spring; well]
Mazor [מזור- cure; relief]
Ma'oz [מעוז- fortress]
Ma'agan [מעגן- harbor; anchorage]
Mapal [מפל- waterfall]
Matzok [מצוק- cliff]
Marom [מרום- height]
Misgav [משגב- fortress (biblical form)]

Paz [פז- pure gold]
Peled [פלד- steel]
Peleg [פלג- rivulet]
Pri [פרי- fruit]
Pele [פלא- wonder; miracle]
Porat [פורת- fertile (name of a place in Israel)]

Nice words that start with "Peh" (P):
Pardes [פרדס- orchard]. This Hebrew word comes from the same Persian origin like the English "paradise" (garden of Eden).
Pashosh [פשוש- warbler (bird)]. Often describes something or someone who is tiny and adorable.
Perach [פרח- flower]. The "ch" consonant is pronounced as in the Scottish "loch".
Parpar [פרפר- butterfly]
Pe'er [פאר- magnificence; gorgeousness]

As for words that start with "Mem" (M), we have loads of them.
The letter Mem has several functions in the Hebrew conjugating, and five out of our seven "buildings" (molds of verbs) use this letter at the begining of the word for the participles, or for verbs in the present tense.
