I read a bit about this today in the Mail. As soon as I got to the bit about the fact that we Brits started the industrial revolution like it was a bad thing (the book links it to the start of air pollution) I knew it was time to stop reading. It only goes to show that if some countries are really in the sh*t (as unfortunately America is - government's fault not the general public) they will turn on anyone, even those they're supposed to be closest to. Charming! I think he's done more harm to the American people than to Britain by passing his opinion off as if it's their general opinion rather than his own.

Drugs - South Americans grow 'em and sell 'em
Both World Wars - Is he in the real world? Britain (there's a lot more to Britain than England) was the first to stand up to first the Kaiser and then Hitler - we stopped both world wars.
Global Warming - I think you'll find that the Americans use the most fossil fuels and most of the Developed world is to blame but Britain is seriously cutting back
The Evil Empire - I take it you mean our old Empire. Well, Empires may not be the best way forward but it's what we and most of Europe were doing at the time. It's widely accepted that ours was the best of a bad lot and to prove my point, most of the old Imperial colonies decided to stay on with us after their independance in the form of the Commonwealth which is still going strong today.

The world would be in a much worse state without the English and the English sense of justice and fair play. America was founded on our Parlimentary principles and anyway, just how democratic can America be when it is a two-horse race?

Steven Grasse is obviously a toad. I'm from American and I thought that every one in the world blames us as the big evil. Sorry that you guys are getting blamed. Maybe he was doing drugs and forgot he was supposed to be blaming America?

IKR. He blames Britain for everything. You can't just blame one country for ruining the world when we didn't own the WHOLE world. I think he made the book to get money or he's just jealous that his country doesn't have a lot of history as we do, Awww. ;)

Well we(the British) have deluded so called authors as well like David Irving and his 'Denial of the Holocaust'.
Still I expect that at the back of his(Steven Grasse) writing of the book is some greasy politician who has put him up to it with a big bag of dollars!.

Maybe it should start with giving America Independence. As lets face it the US is the biggest polluter in the world and the fool in the white house seems to think it's everyone elses problem.

(sorry rant over, I actually like Americans, well most of them)

The guy blames Britain for every bad thing we were even slightly connected to. I don't know what his agenda is, but he's a dickead. We've done some things we're not proud of, but so has every country. And we've also contributed so much to the world. What language was he writing in? English.

drugs:- OK the opium wars, most countries had an interest in this and had troops there.
both world wars :-ever heard of a nice guy called hitler.
global warming:- USA biggest polluter in the world followed by China

The majority of pollutants come from air conditioning in cars - of which america has the most.
Britain didnt actually start either of the world wars, and plenty other countries were involved in them, protecting their allies, including america.
ok we colluded in the opium trade in the early parts of last century but who does now?
And who is steven grasse anyway.
