well earthquakes sometimes have aftershocks, but not nessecaraly. if it happened like yesterday then i dont think that there is gonna be another one. earthquakes occure cause of the plates either coverging diverging or creating transform boundries. just dont freak out thats the most important thing.

Sure, there could be a bigger one - there might not also be another one for hundreds of years.

Earthquakes are very hard to predict. I wouldn't worry too much about it - the chances of actually dying in an earthquake, even in earthquake hot zones like southern california, are so low that you're more likely to be struck by lightning WHILE winning the lottery, than you are to die in an earthquake.

Go on living your life - know how to keep yourself safe if there IS an earthquake, and you'll be just fine.

Not Necessarily because No one can predict earthquakes they just happen when they happen, all you need to do is prepare yourself for the big one set up a plan with you and your family friends or relationship partner, build a kit suck as toiletries food and water I would suggest stuff you can eat from a can that you do not need to cook spam is okay pack in 3 gallons of water and first aid kit for minor injuries. and get involved and try to reach out and help the community. Do not panic the worst thing to do is panic during a natural disaster, stay calm. safe place indoors during an earthquake is in a doorway or underneath a sturdy table If you have animals birds cats or dogs they will warn you ahead when something wrong is going to happen, they will act very strangely
If you are outdoor try to get in a open space away from trees or power lines or even falling chunks of debris If you are in a car pull your car over to the side and duck and cover in the back seat until the ground stops shaking cover yourself with a blanket to prevent glass from shattering at you. Every one is scared of earthquakes all you can do is just ride it through and just stay calm-do not panic

You have to see several other factors like what is the accumulated stress at that point. If a very small portion of stress released during 4.2 then there is a chance of major earthquake. If not no need to worry. It is better if you have these types of non destructive earthquakes periodically. Because it will release the stress then and there. This will help to avoid major earthquakes.

an earthquake at 4.2 is generally a small earthquake. and is condsidered light to moderate on the damage scaleand tend to happen 30,000 times per year around the world. the largest earthquakes are on the scale of 7.0-7.9, but generally occur 20 times per year. the largest (>8.0) happen only once every 5 to 10 years. depending where you live and the activity of the plate structure is directly proportional to the size of earthquakes that may be experienced.

Yes, of course.
If you are in an earthquake zone, there's always the possibility of a bigger one.

Aftershocks can be bigger than the original earthquake, but it doesn't happen that way, too often.
