Yes this is true. They are currently meeting and are very close to a deal. they'll probably still go russell in the draft but getting a veteran to run the show till russell is nfl ready is a good idea. And getting someone mobile like jeff is key considering the Oline woes of the raiders.

Being an Eagles fan I was very disappointed that they did not sign Jeff Garcia but these are the teams I heard he is meeting with from NFL Network on Sirius.

Raiders , Texans , Buccaneers, Broncos

Hey first comment. Jamarcus Russel is the QB from LSU, you are thinking of the WR Calvin Johnson.
The Raiders are looking into Garcia. I can see him coming here because he is from the Bay Area.

What a joke it would not surprise me what a combination , a screwed up owner , a new Head Coach that came from college with no Head Coaching experience , and a bunch of old unmotivated overpaid prima donas , say hello to a 4-12 season upcoming Raider Fan LOL!!!!!!!

^Denver hasn't traded Plummer ---he said he'll retire if they send him somewhere where he isn't the auto-starter (as he probably would be in Housten if they toss Carr)

Although I do not wish well upon them, getting Garcia to "mentor" Russell (or atleast let him watch and absorb the NFL) for a year would be an excellent, and quite suprising on Al Davis's part, decision.

I don't know about that. They have the number 1 pick in the draft and they probably are looking to draft the QB from LSU Calvin Johnson.
