Well my first time didn' t hurt... there was a slight discomfort but no pain.

To be honest the hymen could have broken long before you have sex for the first time so that may not even be an issue. I did a lot of horse riding in my teens and suspect that is when it happened for me. Making sure you have lots of foreplay and are in the mood and well lubricated will help. Also the idea of experimenting on your own (or with your partner) first is a good one. Prior to actual penetration you must be relaxed there. If you are properly stimulated that shouldn't be a problem. Or using something smaller to start with (such as a finger) can help prepare you for sex. The best thing to do is not to worry too much or this could make you tense up and thus actually make it painful. Relax and enjoy the moment.

Good luck and take care and remember to use protection! I am sure if you have thought about it this much that isn't something I needed to add but just in case.

Unless you were born without a hymen (rare, but it does happen), probably no. On the other hand, the amount of pain different women experience their first time varies quite a lot depending on a person's body, everyone's is unique. I suppose you could always just do it yourself, at least that way it wouldn't hurt when you actually have sex, I've heard of women doing that.

Before you have sex for the first time, experiment with a small dildo or vibrator ALONE by yourself. Get some lube (or Vaseline or hand lotion). If you don't have a dildo/vibrator get something that is shaped like a penis (cucumber, small candle). Bring yourself to orgasm with your fingers first, then after you are lubricated and open try using the dildo/vibrator

Sex does not have to be painful. What makes it painful for many women is their lack of knowledge and lack of skill by their partners.

Also, when you have sex for the first time with your boyfriend, show him how to use his fingers to bring you to orgasm before having sex. Don't just start having intercourse first.
