My cousin used to wear ankle wieghts while in practice and then during games he could jump really high. He started off with the 2#ers and worked up to 10#ers by the time he got into high school he could slam a ball easy but it did take some time.

good luck.

Ok, this is kinda long and involved, but it will really help build the muscles you need to jump higher:

Go to a gym and find the heaviest weights you can and put them on the floor on both sides of your feet. Then take gigantic rubber bands (I'm serious, these things are really made, but I'm not sure what they are called) and loop one end through the handles on the weights and then criss cross the band over the opposite shoulder and squat down and jump as high as you can. Repeat 10-15 times. Also, try doing weighted jumping, squats/leg presses, or lunges.

You can't really learn how to jump higher, not much. They sale shoes with an exercise book to help with that. You might have seen those funny looking shoes on that one Seinfeld episode. They look like that. But at tops, you'll gain 2-3 inches on your vertical. Thats to say if you are already at top physical condition. Losing some weight helps with that, and working on your calf muscles too.

I wore 5 pound leg weights for a year in order to jump higher in Volleyball. Not one centimeter higher. I just felt that I could.

basically plyometric style training will help....do explosive jumps....for example....find something u can jump and touch....stand under it, bend the knees and explode....up and down 5 times maybe. do reps of 5-10...things like that will strengthen the calves.

another trick is to balance on one leg...balancing on one leg isolates the leg you are using and thus strenghtens it...using muscles u dont normally use...hope it all goes well for u
