My boyfriend was doing some yard work and while raking he heard a screaching sound coming from the dirt, and to his surprise it was a baby bunny. He decided to bring it home. I don't want to keep the thing becasuse it's a wild animal and who knows what kind of parasites it's carrying, but I can't put it back outside either because it's so young, it would never survive.

It's maybe about as big as the palm of your hand. (maybe smaller) I don't think it's anymore than just a couple of weeks maybe a month at the most. But we've never owned a rabbit before and i'm concerned about what a bunny this young could eat. I assume they do nurse. Right??
PLEASE HELP!!! I don't want to kill the thing but I don't know what to do with it........

Kitten milk replacer that you can get at the pet store is also a good idea. Wild bunnies don't feed very often as it makes them more vulnerable to predators, so every 3 hours may be too much! The eyedropper, or a small syringe (with no needle, of course) is a good idea to get them to eat. Don't be too upset if it dies. Baby bunnies are notoriously hard to rehab from such a young age...they don't do very well usually.

Offer your baby bunny some fresh greens. If she doesn't know what to do with it, she is probably still nursing. (they a re weaned at about 3-4 weeks old)

Use and eye dropper and feed her luke warm goats milk every three hours or so until her tummy is slightly rounded. Don't feed mroe then she is willing to take.

A vet will be able to check her for parasites and vaccinate her, so a visit is in order pretty quick.

Good luck, email me if you have more questions

poor little bunny rabbit , maybe the mother out it there herself ,as it might have something wrong with it , so she would´t want her other baby´s to catch anything from this one , so I don´t think there´s much you can do . apart from call the vet and ask for advice , being so young the bunny would depend on the mothers milk. but it was left there to die and sorry to say I´m sure that´s what will happen , hope not but that´s nature ,

FEED WITH AN EYE DROPPER. WARM WATER MIXED WITH MILK. BABY CEREAL, RICE IS THE BEST.FEED THE BUNNY WITH YOUR HAND. ONCE IT GETS BIGGER AND EATS ON ITS OWN GIVE IT GRASS, LETTUCE AND CARROTS. WHEN THE BUNNY IS AROUND 6-8 INCHES TALL TURN IT LOOSE IN A FIELD. MAKE SURE THE SNOW WON'T BE FALLING ANYMORE. PUT NEAR A MUNCH OF BRANCHES, SO IT CAN HIDE.

call or go into your vet and they should be able to tell you what to do or even take the bunny in until they think that it is old enough to go to a new home.
