the first person states: Appomattox Courthouse
wrong war, that is America Civil War
The person in front on me states:
Battle of Lexington
Date April 19, 1775
Location Middlesex County, Massachusetts
I believe:
Date September 28 – October 17, 1781
Location Yorktown, Virginia
Result Decisive Franco-American victory
Trapped at Yorktown, Virginia, the British surrendered their main combat army to Washington in October 1781. Although King George III wanted to fight on, his supporters lost control of Parliament, and the war effectively ended for America.
Credit must be given where it is due... the person below me is correct!
August 19, 1782 Battle of Blue Licks. The battle was regarded as the final battle of the American Revolutionary War.
I guess effectively ended is not the same as ended!

It's currently being fought in Baghdad.
But if you mean the American Revolutionary war, then it's Blue Licks Battlefield in Kentucky, in 1782. There's a state park there now memorializing the event.

I'm pretty sure it was at the Appomattox Courthouse
but you might want to double check that.
