well, overall, the guys have been pretty good contenders, I have to say, but we're on a 16 year loosing streak right now.

but in Bush's defense, i almost think that,....well, he sort of got "the wrong shift" if you know what i mean.

it was a 50/50 chance. he was ether going to please everybody, or nobody. unfortunately, it was the latter of the two.

i do think it would be nice to have a woman president for a change, though. I really think this country is ready for a female in the top job.

i REALLY want a black woman. as long as if people don't like her, everybody accepts it instead of saying "its because shes black, isn't it?!"

but not Clinton. she is the last person i want running the country.

the president is not the leader of the country, except when war is declared. otherwise, they have a lot less power.

i've always been of the belief that the president is more of an IMAGE, than anything actually important. there are many, many people that run the country, the president is simply the head of one of the branches

that said, i'd also like to point out that laws are not gendered. commands are not gendered. therefore, i don't think it matters, TO US, if we have a man or a woman.

some countries believe, as a majority, that women are for cooking, and whatnot, and perhaps those countries might look down on some country run by a woman.

i would cite england as a reference, being that the ruler is a queen, but it's actually the parliament that runs that country, so far as i understand

I think this country is ready for a female President. I do think it would be a shame though if she was a representative of the Clinton family...

There are however numerous female politicians who may one day attempt the role, far better qualified than our former first lady.

I also think we're ready for a Black President, and Barrack Obama could prove to be an excellent leader (The question is, does America know him well enough that he could win?).

Right now, I'm leaning twords the pseudo-Republican, Rudy Guiliani, but we have a ways to go before November 2008.

Ann Richards would have been a GREAT President.
Certainly not Shrillary, Condiloser or any of the current crop.
I cannot imagine any other woman being up to the task.
Women should stay in the kitchen and cook for their men.

Neither. A person's ability to lead a country has nothing to do with their sex and everything to do with their skills, ideas, and experience. Personally, I would like to see a woman in the White House; however, I would not vote for someone just because she is a woman.

Probaly the wisest choice would be a person who has the leadership capabilities and would be able to work with the senate to do whats best for everyone concerned.

Vote Your Choice and encourage others to be a part of our political process.......

I think a patriotic, moral person who represents our people and preserves the integrity and values in our country would be good-and ran it like a business! Enough with political infighting! People should be judged on who and what they are-not their gender-but isn't that the point? So-my answer would be-whoever is best!

Give me a candidate, black, white, Asian, Hispanic, male, female, transgender even, who gets up and says "Keynes and Galbraith were wrong and Schumpeter and Friedman were right and the economy of the last 30 years proves it" and I will not only vote for him or her but join his or her campaign.

Gender has nothing to do with it. I know women who are much better managers and bosses than their male counterparts. I also know men who are quite capable of being in charge.
