Why on earth dont we copy the Germans and Dutch in terms of sex ed and tell the parents to go jump if they have issues with it on the logic it works and that parents who think their teenage sons and daughters are children need lessons in human biology and development

Sexuality education is not necessarily a separate curriculum and may be integrated across school subjects and at all grade levels. Educators provide accurate and complete information in response to students' questions.
Families have open, honest, consistent discussions with teens about sexuality and support the role of educators and health care providers in making sexual health information and services available for teens.
Adults see intimate sexual relationships as normal and natural for older adolescents, a positive component of emotionally healthy maturation. At the same time, young people believe it is "stupid and irresponsible " to have sex without protection and use the maxim, "safer sex or no sex."

Its usually 15-17 year olds I have seen doing the most public affection and kissing.

It's not so much the education, it's the attitudes of parents. I was going out with a Dutch girl and one time I was drinking coffee in the kitchen with her parents ("I'll be ready in a second") and her mother came out with "She seems to be a lot happier, since you started making love together". She had told her parents.

I am not saying no US/British parents would ever say that to their children's significant others, but it is probably not that common. At least i didn't feel too bad about staying there overnight.

I just gotta take this one!! Children are children because they are learning how to function in an adult world. self restraint and life lessons are part of learning to be a successful adult. I raised my daughter like an adult -in-training and gave great freedom yet, many conversations about consequences of the choices she makes. Her friends would come to my home and we would have these conversations and wouldn't you know, each of her group of childhood friends have not gotten pregnant, married and divorced or suffering from being babies raising babies. they are now 27 years old. One is in Europe as a social worker, one is in Seattle doing computer engineering, one is teaching, and my daughter, she has a degree in Spanish, international affairs and accounting. It is not in the best interest of adults in training to be given free reign in a world of disrespect for selves or others. It is not forward thinking that sex is freedom. Sex needs to be a responsible decision, one of personal self respect, dignity and respect for others. AND, REALLY, HOW MANY GIRLS REALLY ENJOY SEX AT 16? 15? 14? 13? 12? 17? 18?...
