try holding the black button on ythe dash in and turning the ignition on look to see if there is a count down...
if not twist it for 10 seconds and see if it works

The last answer is on the right track, with the ignition off, press the trip button in and move the ignition to the second stage for a few seconds. Well it works for the Arosa...

We have a Leon and the instructions as for how to do it is in the handbook. Would imagine it is in your too.
