Personally, I probably have over 900. I have so many I find myself buying ones I forgot I own. Got over 1000 laserdiscs, a few hundred factory VHS and maybe 100 factory Beta tapes.
Comes from having no kids, no mortgage and no life.

Somewhere around 150. I used to buy DVDs for any movie I liked. Not I only buy the ones that I would want to watch again and/or share with friends. That limits me to about 10-15 a year.

I'm stuck at around 250. And so you know, you can put your collection up on a site called DVD Aficionado. A friend I used to work with told me about it and it's pretty cool.

Close to 50, I will only buy DVDs instead of VCD if I really enjoy watching the movie/series repeatedly.

My son counted ours the other day, we have over 300. That's just within the last 3 years. We buy one about every week. Now we're just trying to find a place to put them all. :)
